Weekly Overview#
Okish week. Did not do as much as I wanted to. But, still some progress. Some plan changes as well.
6th, 7th October 2025 - Monday, Tuesday#
Summary#
- Study:
- - Embedded Systems
- - Artificial Intelligence(AI)
- - Semiconductors
Reflections and Remarks
- Mixed couple of days. More of the focus was on figuring out what projects to do next.
- Embedded Systems: Got really boring with the book. I think I might stop reading it for some time and focus on some projects. Its getting too theoretical and I am not able to keep up the interest. Maybe later I’ll come back to it.
- AI: This was good, I think I have learned enough to get started with some projects. I will continue with the math in parallel.
- 7th was very exhausting. Tried to do the studying in the morning but was not able to wake up early, so was tired all day. Will try again tomorrow.
- Tomorrow, is semiconductors day. Will try to focus on it. Was, very boring last time.
- Theme for the week is Projects, projects, projects. No matter how little theory I do.
8th, 9th October 2025 - Wednesday, Thursday#
Summary#
- Study:
- - Embedded Systems
- - Artificial Intelligence(AI)
- - Semiconductors
Reflections and Remarks
- Good last 2 days. Got a lot done. Feeling good.
- AI: Math math math, did a lot of math some revision as well. I got to start with some projects, I have done enough math for now. Will start by watching the OpenAI dev day probably and some of Andrej Karpathy videos on LLMs tomorrow.
- Embedded Systems: Did some bit math, was good but got really boring. Its amazing how bit math can do so much. Good stuff. Project-wise did some hello world stuff using the idf sdk. Will try doing the same with bare metal C tomorrow.
- Semiconductors: Finally some work done in this area. For now my tentative plan is to study(in depth) some concepts on Wednesdays and write the blog on Sundays, which are the two days I have decided to focus on semiconductors. I have started with the photoelectric effect. Let’s see how it goes.
- Rabbit hole: Got stuck fixing ssh issues with my reMarkable Pro. Didn’t get it fixed as it is a software issue from their side. I just wanted to be able to share my screen on my linux machine. But I guess I will have to wait for them to fix it. I really don’t want to revert to some older version of the firmware, or use the developer mode as it will erase all my notes. Also, the device is like 4 months old, so don’t want to brick it. Will wait.
- Project-wise: It is not all that I wanted it to be, but still some progress, which I am happy about. I do have a perfectionism problem, so I am working on it. Some progress is better than no progress.
- Random thought: Progress is weird. If you just look at a short amount of time, there seems to be none. But if you look at a longer time frame, there is a lot of it.
10th October 2025 - Friday#
Summary#
- Study:
- - Embedded Systems
- - Artificial Intelligence(AI)
- - Semiconductors
Reflections and Remarks
- Okish day. Actually not quite it was good, it is just my perfectionism speaking.
- AI: Watched the Andrej Karpathy GPT video, learned about basics of LLMs. Good stuff, will do more tomorrow. Did not do much math today. Need to do better time management. Really need to focus on projects.
- Embedded Systems: Oh man, I was trying to do bare-metal C on the ESP32, what a complex system. Will probably try with something simpler, like an STM32 or something. The ESP32 is just too complex for a beginner like me. But, I did learn a lot about how things are working under the hood. So, it was not a total loss.
- I really need to do better time management, as I said. I am just doing too much theory and not enough practical stuff. I need to fix this. Hopeful for tomorrow.
11th, 12th October 2025 - Saturday, Sunday#
Reflections and Remarks#
- Two not so great days. Some situation at home, as well as a lot of laziness.
- Had to change plans a little bit. I realized mastering embedded and AI in 3 months is not possible. So, had to put aside some time for both in terms of theory and projects every day. It might take a year+ but it will be worth it. Meanwhile, I plan to do some blockchain and projects which I can build now(with my current skills). I realized that waiting for AI and Embedded study to be over and then building some projects around it is not feasible and I won’t get much out of the next 3 months. So, yeah. Let’s see how it goes.
- Hoping for a better week, next week.
